Planmaster - Flexible Machining of Large Workpieces
The gantry concept allows maximum precision with large workpieces. For this purpose ELB has designed two model ranges, which have set new standards for flexibility and precision.The Planmaster series can be subdivided into two machine families as follows:
Planmaster machines with reciprocating machine table are suitable for grinding cubic workpieces up to a width of 2000 mm and a length of 4000 mm.
The Planmaster RT has a rotary table on which round-symmetrical parts with a diameter of up to 2000 mm can be machined. Using the rotary table as a B-axis allows machining of off-center details with extreme precision. The rotary tables are equipped with hydrostatic bearings to guarantee maximum precision even under heavy loads.

Up to 4 vertical slides can be mounted on the cross-beam of the Planmaster. These can be fitted with horizontal, vertical and swivelling spindles. Combining a tool changer along with measuring probes for the vertical spindles transforms the Planmaster into a high precision grinding center tailored to your requirements.

The little brother of the Planmaster series is called the Planmaster HP. Workpieces up to a width of 1500 mm and a length of 3000 mm can be ground on machines of this type. The hydraulic table drive provides excellent results in surface finish and workpiece geometry even with large and heavy workpieces. Dressing can be accomplished by means of a wheel-head mounted straight-line dresser equipped with single point diamonds or with table mounted dressers.
The generously sized cooling system for the hydraulic oil and the grinding spindle motor allows the Planmaster HP to retain its excellent precision during all operating stages.
When only surface grinding operations are required, the Planmaster HP is equipped with the ELB-Comfort control.
If profiles nare to be dressed and ground, the STC control is best suited and provides easy operation.
