Siemens Sinumerik 840D Control
All complex grinding tasks and profiles can be executed with the Sinumerik 840 D. The control unit allows the interpolation of up to 5 axes. This means that it is possible to generate cones, convex or concave shapes and generally curved surfaces. There are no limits to the design when creating wheel profiles. The 840 D control also allows large and complex grinding centers with many axes and multiple spindles to be controlled securely. The operator interface has been designed in a particularly user-friendly way. Proven ELB operation cycles are available for almost all applications. The design of the available cycles is flexible and their execution is defined by parameters, which are entered via graphically structured masks.
A further advantage of this control unit is the Cadnology software package, available as option, which allows even highly complicated profiles to be imported directly as CAD data and then converted into contour data for the machine.
The numerous specific control features such as the display of messages in plain text, multiple language support, fast internal communication via Profibus, interfaces to peripheral and operational data recording devices or the capability for teleservice are, of course, also available in all ELB grinding machines.
